The Lynchburg Museum System has acquired more than 10,000 photographs of local people, places, and events since it was established in 1976. Most of these images have been digitized and uploaded to our sister website LynchburgPhotos.org. New images are being scanned and added to the site on a regular basis.
All images found on LynchburgPhotos.org may be used for educational or scholarly purposes and are provided free of charge at a low resolution for this use. We only ask that the credit line “Courtesy of the Lynchburg Museum System” be used with each image.
If you would like a higher resolution version of a particular image or wish to publish an image in any form, an reproduction fee will be charged. Please see the Reproduction & Digitization Policy below.
