In collaboration with the Lynchburg Museum, Seven Hills Chamber Music Festival presents this interdisciplinary concert that blends performance with local history and storytelling. Held in the museum’s main gallery on Court Street, “Sounds of the Hill City” will premiere works by historic local composers and bring hidden stories to life through music. Featured prominently will be music for flute and violin, in homage to the historic duo, Blind Billy & Thomas Perkins. Other repertoire includes Dvořák’s “American” String Quartet, Reena Esmail’s luminous Nadiya for flute and viola, and the delightfully quirky Stir Crazy by Carlos Simon, in addition to music by Lynchburg's own Louis Schehlmann and Gennaro Bozzaotra.
